Teneriffe
lace
is a needle weaving technique requiring a
frame or a form in addition to thread and needle. In
its
most common form, small motifs are first made and
these are later joined together for the final piece.
It has
openwork with the delicacy and patterns recalling the
fine tracery of a spider's web. Pattern books includes
a discussion of tools and materials, basic instructions,
plus many pages of patterns and designs from the
early 1900s. |
